A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 7 PM as waves of rain and thunderstorms pass through the region.

It’s going to be a cloudy, wet and cool day: temperatures reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s with a steady east wind.

While we can’t tell you exactly how much rain you’ll get, here’s one idea of what the range of additional rainfall will look like through the evening. Some will have a half-inch, some up to four inches. That’s where flash flooding may become a problem later today.

• Localized flooding is possible! Be alert and ready to avoid flooded roadways. Turn Around! Don’t Drown!
• This does not look like a significant severe weather threat for North Alabama and Tennessee, but some severe storms could be close! Be aware that a few severe storms could develop as far north as Smith Lake, Cullman, Albertville, Gadsden, Boaz and Fort Payne.
